It's beginning to look alot like Valentine's Day!

Well Mom has started to decorate for Valentine's Day around here.  I have been busy with school, basketball games, church as well as helping the family with the animals and things in the house.  Dad is busy remodeling the family room in the basement and hauling grain from the farm on nice days.  We have been having pretty nice weather here for the most part.  It has been really good on the chickens and goats.  We have a heat lamp in their barn for when it does get really cold at nights. Looking forward to what Spring brings!!  God is good!!

I'm Back!!!

Grandma Christmas decorations

I'm back ......off from school and getting ready for Christmas.  We will be visiting both grandparents' homes, one at Christmas Eve and one for Christmas day.
   
Grandpa got a new Lowery Organ for Christmas and we are having fun playing songs and Grandma is cooking for the big day.

All the animals are doing fine and I think they are expecting a special treat for Christmas.

I am wishing for an IPad...Sissy  wants a Kindle....well we will have to wait a couple days yet....if we can...

           Thanks to everyone who made my birthday great! Also a special thanks to my Aunt who lives in Joliet, Il. Anyway it was a very nice day here. It was fun to set and watch the goats and chickens.

A big day tomorrow- can you guess what it is??

Well I will give you a hint .......there is a song about it and you sing to a person one time a year...yep it's my BIRTHDAY!!  We will celebrate with family and good food and of course birthday cake. Ice cream cake to be exact. (my favorite).  I think the weather is going to be warm which I am thankful for that.  We will plant our strawberries tomorrow along with some more things for our garden.  We are in the process of redoing the chickens and goats pen. Dad is busy in the fields.  Well thats it for now.  Until next time  remember to SMILE Jesus loves you!!

Kite Day!

            =)! Our kites flew! Thanks to our grandpa we got to fly kites! The weather is finally warm at about 65 degrease so we took advantage of the warm weather and flew our kites!

            We got a dog! Not exactly a farm do but a dog shes little white and fluffy! Shes a crazy little dog and likes to k=chase the chickens and goats! We named her Buffy because that means God's promise.

A Wet Tuesday

Well today as been a deary wet day here on the farm.  The temperatures have been dropping all day.  These are great days to stay in and sit by the fireplace.  Me and my sister like to play games on days like these.  My Mom does her daily housework and Dad has been working in the house today doing some work in the family room.  The animals have all been feed and all is well with them.  Even though these days are gloomy we can still rejoice knowing that "this is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it!" The sun will soon be out again but until then be thankful for this day I know that me and my family are!!!

        Here's our newest cat rusty.He is a great little  cat. Him and our other cat Figiro love to play.There both very playful. They love to catch, play, and kill mice!

 Yes! we have a chicken cam! Ha ha! (not the best one.) Its neat though!

The Shining Sun!!

      All the animals were so happy to see the sun today, because it melted all the snow. So they all came out of there barns and grazed in the nice green grass. The roosters crowed,the turkeys gobbled, the hens pecked, and even some of the little chickens flew on top of the bird feeders!They are so happy! They've been waiting for the sun to shine again. =)

BURRR!!!! Its cold!!!!!! The animals are freezing and mostly staying in the barn. Yep for those of you that are wondering it snowed! You know what that means! SNOW DAY! Yep we were off school yesterday! So me and my sister went outside and played in the snow. There was not very much but we made the little that we had a BLAST! We made snow forts but then the got ran over by the car! (because the were in the driveway!) Ha Ha!

Welcoming A New Year

Here we are in January 2011. It is cold here today and we expecting another snow storm tonight.  Possibly up to 4 inches or more.  We are still busy here on the farm with my Dad hauling grain and the rest of the family keeping up with the animals and everyday tasks.  The weather has been so cold we have to make sure the animals have fresh water daily and sometimes break ice to give it to them.  We have added some heated water bowls for them.  The goats have their winter coats on for sure. =)

We are starting to think about garden plans for the upcoming spring.  Mom likes to try to plan ahead.  I think the sweet corn is our family's  favorite and the raccoons too!
